My name’s Dani and I live with my husband, Dan (yes, Dani and Dan…) and my two boys, Toby and Harry.

I’ve been involved in education for the past ten years (primary teaching) but my boys have taught me that my real passion and calling is to serve birthing women.  I hope to retrain as a midwife sometime soon.

  1. Hi can you tell me all you know about going into midwifery please? I am also a teacher who fancies this change in career. Am I right you have to pay fees again? Canterbury uni has confused me as they said its NHS funded but fees are £8,500. Thanks, nikki (mummy to Toby)

    • Hi Nikki,
      Toby’s a good name!
As far as I have worked out, the NHS will pay for the course fees, even if you already have a degree. That’s the only way I’m going to be able to do it anyway! Oxford Brookes told me that both the undergrad and Masters routes are fully funded by the NHS even though I already have one of each…
      Good luck!
